are you some kind of smoked fish connoisseur all of a sudden???!!here's what Chambers Dictionary says:"kipper noun 1 a fish, especially a herring, that has been split open, salted and smoked"and:"verb (kippered, kippering) to cure (herring, etc) by salting and smoking"i'll grant you they're *not* herring, in fact they are decidedly mackerely - but they *are* kippers all the same!
"kipper noun 1 a fish, especially a herring, that has been split open, salted and smoked"
